Mrs. Macomber graduated from Central Michigan University with a B.A. in Secondary Education with a double major in English and Social Studies and a minor in History. She continued her education at Wayne State University, earning her M.A. in Educational Psychology.
For the first eight years of her career, Mrs. Macomber worked at Lake Shore High School, teaching English and Social Studies. While there, she was the advisor of the student newspaper, The Shoreline, and of the Gay/Straight Alliance (GSA) . She earned the Michigan Council for Social Studies' Terry Kuseske Social Justice Award in 2013-14 for her work with the GSA. Mrs. Macomber was also a member of the Galileo Teacher Leadership Academy for one year. Mrs. Macomber joined the L'Anse Creuse Middle School Central teaching staff during the 2014-2015 school year to teach Drama 6, Drama 7/8, and English 7. As a graduate of L'Anse Creuse High School and MSC, she was thrilled to be returning home to the district that fostered her love of learning. In 2015, Mrs. Macomber joined Crusader Nation to teach 9th grade U.S. History and picked up AP Human Geography for the second semester. In the spring semester of 2016, she taught U.S. History and Economics. In 2017, she added English 9, Journalism, and Writing for Publications classes to her courses. During her time at LCN, Mrs. Macomber was the advisor of the Gay/Straight Alliance, Class of 2019's co-sponsor, and co-advisor of LCN's National Honor Society. Mrs. Macomber is the English department's teacher leader and advisor of The North Star student newspaper. She also runs the Harry Potter village! Mrs. Macomber is married to her husband Matthew. Together, they have a daughter, Emerson, and son, Lucas. 2019-2020 2nd semester class schedule:
